What can we do to keep him?

My older brother lives with me and now his son has came to live with us after his grandmother called and said she couldnt take care of him anymore and she lives in TN. She still has custody but the child support has been dropped and everything. If she was to try and take him away from us and take him back to TN is there any way we can keep her from taking him. She placed him under temporary guardianship with my brother in TN but we live in NC. What can we do to keep her from up and taking him?

My son lives with me in NC and I have guardianship over him but his grandma lives in TN and has custody but she sent him to live with me. I dont want her up and taking him back is there anything i can do?

Whoever has legal custody gets to make the decisions.
If something has changed and grandma isn't able to care for the child anymore then the courts and social services will sort things out.
This will likely need to be done in TN.
If you are at a loss them start with social services in NC and let them direct you.

Why and how did Grandma originally get custody? How long has he been living with you? Where is dad?

wait, now your other post says that this is your nephew, not your son..... try posting all the details under one post rather than two or more that say different scenarios.

how long ago did he come and live with your brother (and you)? How old is the child? How did grandma originally get custody and where is the mother of the child in all of this? Is grandma your mother or the mom's mother?

When did this happen? Is this the maternal grandmother or the paternal grandmother? Why was the child living with one of his grandmothers and not one of his parents? Your post is oddly silent regarding the child's mother.

If a court has ordered that she has custody, then it is up to her to decide where the child lives. If your brother wants to change that, then he needs to file with the court for that. Nothing in your post indicates that you have standing to do anything.

This seems to be the same story from the first paragraph of your post, but told in the first person from your brother's perspective, as opposed to in the third person from your perspective.

His father posted on and i posted the other but i know she basically got custody in a f'ed up way and it was yrs ago but she had my brother come to TN and they went to the courts and he had to sign paperwork stating that his son would be living with him and not his nanny anymore because his nanny sent him to live down here because he got in trouble in school up in TN and she didnt want to get in any trouble if he wouldnt goto school up there but he is a good kid and he goes to school

Custody was granted here in NC and here in NC is where they dropped the child support. His nanny really doesnt want him anymore.
