Fraud, Embezzlement, Bad Checks Counterfeit $100 & $50 Bills

Beware if you see $100 or $50 bills with Asian marking, usually in PINK.




Hey guys, I was taking a four mile house, 2 miles to and from, and on my way back, I found this very odd counterfeit 100$ bill on the ground on my way back. I know it's fake, so I can't spend it, but it has a distinct Japanese stamping on it, so I don't know what it says on it. I don't know how to look up the language, so I hope one of you guys can help me out with that. Also, do you guys think I should turn this thing in? I also want to find out if you guys think it was intended to circulate, or if it is just for a small group of people, hence my desire to find out what it says. Here are the two pictures of it, front and back.

Now, let me mention before I finish: if it's not Japanese - my bad, it just looks like it to me lol.

ANSWER: It is Chinese. These notes are all over eBay. They are claimed to be "practice money" used to train bank tellers in China.

This is one of the best I ever came across. Usually fakes can be detected by the feel of the paper, but not this one.

Looks like the counterfeiter used more than a scanner and home printer.
It looks professional, yet you nabbed someone holding that paper, proving crime rarely pays.

Actually I didn't catch them. This was turned in to me by someone who got scammed at a garage sale.
The scammer turned a $10 bill into $100 by pasting the extra 0 on and covering the word TEN with DOL.
It was a real $10 bill.

Yikes.

I can't imagine not being able to tell that there are pieces of paper glued to a bill.

It was barely noticeable. Held up to the light you could see the dark spot where the glue was. It was also slightly thicker where the glue was. Not noticeable by casual inspection.
Otherwise you had to really be paying attention to the pictures and not the numbers. This was in a community where the people likely have no clue who is supposed to be on which bill. This would have even passed the pen test at stores since it was a real bill.

I was surprised at how many I didn't know. I was sure about Washington on the $1 bill and Jackson on the $20 bill (from hearing hookers on TV refer to a Jackson Trick). I was sort of sure about Lincoln on the $5 and Franklin on the $100. But the rest, nope, couldn't have told you.
