Shoplifting, Larceny, Robbery, Theft i got caught stealing under 70$ worth in urban outfitters

I got caught stealing under 70% worth in urban outfitters
police weren't presented but they took my address(forgot to put my APT#), phone number and they checked my CA id.
i have no papers in the US, whats the worse thing that could happen. i asked the workers if its going to jinx my papers here because its still in process and am i getting a fine or something? i gave everything i took.
please help, im 20

Ok so you say Police did not come? Did store say they were filing a criminal complaint?

yes no police. but i guess they filled a complaint but for the UO corporate. they told me im getting a letter from the UO corporate and they said it depends on the lawyer.

It does not sound like a Police report was filed. the "letter" you refer to is likely Civil Demand

whats gonna happen in that civil demand? isnt that just between me and the corporate?
am i going to have a record? what should i do?

If all store seeks is Civil Demand the only record will be with store and any retail theft database they "might" subscribe to
